Postdoctoral Researcher, Digital Media

Aditya is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Tech. He received his Ph.D. in Digital Media from the same school in 2021. His research is situated at the confluence of science, media, and learning. Anchored in feminist, STS, and pragmatist scholarship, he explores digital media––particularly games, simulations, and interactive visualizations––as environments to foster the learning of science, engineering, and social justice.

Shubhangi Gupta (she/her)
Research Interests: Data, Design, Social Justice

PhD Student, Digital Media

Shubhangi Gupta is a Ph.D. student in Digital Media at Georgia Tech, advised by Dr. Nassim Parvin. She uses qualitative research methods to critically examine the role of data in the design and use of emerging technology. Presently, she is assessing the assumptions embedded in emerging technologies designed for safe mobility in India. Additionally, she aims to highlight the social inequalities these assumptions may perpetuate.

Pooja Casula

PhD Student, Digital Media

Pooja Casula is a second-year PhD student in the Digital Media program. Her research interest lies at the intersection of social media, tech policy, and politics, specifically in understanding how these influence democracy and political participation. Her current project investigates gendered abuse and disinformation campaigns on social media targeting women in politics as well as effective digital strategies to address them.

Sylvia Janicki
Research Interests: Civic Media, Accessibility, Design

PhD Student, Digital Media

Sylvia Janicki is a first year PhD student in Digital Media with a background in landscape architecture and urban design. Her research centers on issues of access and justice in urban environments and explores the intersections of built, digital, and bodily spaces. She is currently working with Dr. Nassim Parvin in the Design and Social Justice Studio to examine embodied experiences of sensing and data production with implications for designing affective technologies in smart cities.

Mohsin Y. K. Yousufi

Mohsin Yousufi is a Ph.D. student in Digital Media at the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Tech. His research is focused on exploring the application and implication of AI and Big Data to architectural design, with a focus on how these technologies can shape the experience of built-environment.
